POMONA -- A Cal Poly Pomona student who was killed riding his bicycle on campus will be honored today with a rolling memorial a week after his death.

Communications major Iv n Arturo Aguilar, 21, was hit by a car on Feb. 28 while bicycling on Kellogg Drive near South Campus Drive shortly before 1 p.m. He died later at Pomona Valley Hospital Medical Center.

Aguilar will be remembered today with a ghost bike - a bicycle painted all white and locked to a street sign near the crash site as a roadside memorial.

Following the ceremony, bicyclists are expected to ride down Kellogg Drive.

Aguilar, whose family resides in Azusa, had hoped to become a journalist following his graduation.

His classmates have set up a Facebook page in memorial. Visit the page at http://tinyurl.com/IvanAguilar.
