Cali Olsen-Binks, who has been the superintendent for the 39,000-student district since 2008, is the lone finalist to take over Yucaipa-Calimesa Joint Unified School District.
The Yucaipa-Calimesa school board interviewed four finalists before selecting Olsen-Binks as the likely successor to take over the 8,856-student district from Superintendent Sherry A. Kendrick, who has held the job for 16 years. Kendrick announced her desire to retire earlier this school year.
The Yucaipa-Calimesa Joint Unified board is scheduled to vote for a new superintendent on Tuesday. If Olsen-Binks is approved, she will begin her new job on July 1. Neither she nor Kendrick could be reached for comment late last week.
