A second suspect was arrested Wednesday in the killing of a Long Beach man whose body was found in a burning sport utility vehicle in Rancho Palos Verdes.

Jose Angel Martinez, 18, of Compton was booked at the Lawndale sheriff's station jail on suspicion of murder. He was held on $1 million bail.

A 17-year-old was arrested Friday in connection with the death.

Christopher Waters, 42, of Long Beach was found dead in his SUV after firefighters doused flames April 23 in the 30100 block of Miraleste Drive in Rancho Palos Verdes.

Waters' body was located in the rear portion of the SUV, deputies said. His feet had been bound, and a cord was wrapped around his neck.

Detectives said Waters was killed in Long Beach and his body was driven to Rancho Palos Verdes. The motive for the crime was not disclosed.
