After a two-month investigation, Fairfield police on Friday arrested two men in Fairfield on suspicion of possessing an assault weapon, a stolen gun, marijuana for sale and for maintaining a drug house.
Eric Brown, 24, of Fairfield, and Ovonte Kendall, 25, of Richmond, were booked into Solano County Jail in Fairfield on the charges.
The department's Special Operations Team served a search warrant at the men's residence, in the 200 block of Tabor Avenue, as part of an investigation into drug trafficking there.
Officers found "a substantial amount" of marijuana and a cache of arms, including three handguns and a submachine pistol, according to a press release. Investigators believe one of the weapons was stolen during a 2007 residential burglary in Suisun City.
