A three-member fact-finding panel will hold a public hearing beginning at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday to gather evidence Gov. Jerry Brown will use to decide whether to order a 60-day "cooling-off" period in the negotiations between BART and its unions.

The state will not broadcast the hearing on the web, but this newspaper will have reporters and photographers on the scene to report, blog, tweet and take photos and videos. See mercurynews.com/BART and twitter.com/RosenbergMerc for live coverage.

For those who want to attend in person, the hearing will be held on the second floor (room 1) of a state building at 1515 Clay St., Oakland.
