A butcher's right forearm was amputated Monday while he was working at a San Anselmo grocery store, firefighters said.
The incident occurred at about 5:30 p.m. at Andronico's market at 100 Center Blvd. The man was conscious when Ross Valley firefighters and Central Marin police got to the store, said fire Capt. Oscar Arenas.
Ross Valley paramedics took the man to Marin General Hospital. From there, he was flown to Stanford University Medical Center.
An Andronico's manager declined to comment. The incident is under investigation.
The man is 28 years old, according to reports.
