Mark Wahlberg wants to be Iron Man.
Who doesn't? That suit of armor is pretty flippin' awesome.
While in the United Kingdom promoting new film "2 Guns," Mark Wahlberg said he's ready to put on the suit, according to Spinoff Online.
"I would like to take over the Iron Man franchise for Robert Downey," he told Yahoo! Movies UK, "(but) it's one of those things where I kind of like playing real people, (so) I've never been asked."
Does it ever work when actors say in public they want a certain role before they actually get the role? Hopefully we won't see Mark Wahlberg pathetically walking around in a homemade Iron Man suit, like Sean Young did while pining to play Catwoman.
Downey, who earned $50 million for his role in "The Avengers," inked a deal in June to appear in its two sequels but not a fourth "Iron Man" movie. So if Marvel wants to continue the "Iron Man" franchose, it will probably need a new actor in a few years.
