PITTSBURG -- A Pittsburg man was shot in the stomach, and another was in custody following a shooting in the Meadow Mobile Home Community in Contra Costa County, police said Sunday.

Officers responded just before 1 a.m. Saturday for a report of a shooting in the mobile home park just off Power Avenue in Pittsburg, said Sgt. Steve Albanese.

When police arrived they found a resident of the mobile home park who had been shot in his torso. The victim was transported to John Muir Medical Center in Walnut Creek where he was listed in critical but stable condition Sunday, Albanese said.

A motive was not immediately known, but Albanese said officers have arrested a Pittsburg man in connection with the shooting. The suspect, whose name was not released Sunday, was arrested on suspicion of assault with a deadly weapon.

Anyone with information about the shooting is asked to call police at 925-646-2441.
