Kanye West, one of pop music's biggest stars, is coming to Oakland and San Jose.

The acclaimed rapper performs Oct. 22 at San Jose's SAP Center and Oct. 23 at Oakland's Oracle Arena. Tickets are $28-$142.75 for the Oracle show and $28-$147 for the SAP Center gig. They go on sale to the general public at noon on Sept. 13 through www.ticketmaster.com, although there are several presale opportunities.

The incredible Mr. West comes to town as part of his 23-city Yeezus Tour, which is in support of his sixth studio album, "Yeezus." The trek, which kicks off Oct. 19 in Seattle, is West's first headlining solo tour in five years.

West's last solo trek was 2008's Glow in the Dark Tour, which stopped twice in San Jose. He last hit the road as the co-headliner with Jay-Z on the Watch the Throne Tour, which stretched from 2011 to 2012 and also included a date in San Jose.

Kendrick Lamar, one of the hip-hop's rising stars, is the opening act on the Yeezus Tour. Lamar also performs at the Rock the Bells festival at Shoreline Amphitheatre in Mountain View, set for Sept. 14-15.

"Yeezus" has been one of the most widely discussed -- and polarizing -- albums of the year. The album debuted at No. 1 on the Billboard 200 after being released in June.
