SUMMIT -- A 65-year-old Saratoga man died in a motorcycle crash with an SUV on Bear Creek Road in the Santa Cruz Mountains on Monday.

The man was riding west on Bear Creek about 3:25 p.m., said California Highway Patrol officer Leland Adkins. A 45-year-old Los Gatos woman was driving a GMC east on Bear Creek when she turned left in front of him, according to the CHP.

The cause of the crash is unclear, Adkins said, but the motorcycle hit the right rear end of the GMC.

The motorcyclist was wearing a helmet and was declared dead at the scene. The woman was not injured.

"We're still determining who's at fault," Adkins said Tuesday.

The road was closed for several hours during an investigation. Officers have not yet released the man's name.
