OAKLAND -- A free series of workshops and presentations by Alameda County officials, representatives from area hospitals, clinics and health agencies will be held later this month.

Experts will talk about the changing face of health care services in the East Bay and where to go for care now and into the future. The event is from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 21 at Oakland Technical High School, 4351 Broadway in Oakland.

Information booths and workshops will connect attendees with resources about primary and specialty care, enrollment in Medi-Cal, new health insurance plans available through Covered California and information about the Affordable Care Act. There will also be a question and answer period.

Speakers will be from the Alameda-Contra Costa Medical Association, Alameda County Community Clinic Consortium, Alameda County Social Services Agency, Alameda Health System, Children's Hospital and Research Center Oakland, East Bay Agency for Children, Health Access, Kaiser, Legal Assistance for Seniors and Sutter Health.
