As daring bank robbers go, the one Benicia police say held up a local bank on Wednesday would more likely be mistaken for Bonnie Parker than Clyde Barrow.

Or, maybe not.

The suspect, described as an approximately 40-year-old 200-pound African American male standing about 6 feet tall, was reportedly sporting a red and white muumuu housedress, a wig, white socks and combat boots.

No surveillance photos were immediately available from police or bank officials.

The suspect reportedly entered the 20 Solano Square bank around 11:40 a.m. and demanded money via a note to a teller, said Benicia Lt. Frank Hartig. No weapon was reportedly seen, and an undisclosed amount of cash was given to the suspect.
