OAKLAND -- Roughly 1,767 customers are without power Saturday night after a wire went down and knocked out electricity to several streets, according to a PG&E spokeswoman.
Jana Morris with the utility said there is no estimated time of restoration, but that crews are on site to begin repairing the wire. It is unknown what caused the wire to fall.
The affected areas, according to Morris, are from 44th Street north to 51st Street between Linden Street and Martin Luther King Jr. Way. The area along West Street, between 34th and 44th streets, and the area from 28th Street north to 34th Street between Market and Summit streets are also affected.
Additionally, the area east of Chestnut Street to West Street and to the south from 30th Street east to 22nd Street are impacted.
