LIVERMORE -- Authorities are investigating the death of a 62-year-old man after his body was found in a creek over the weekend.
Officers responded to a call at 6:24 a.m. Saturday after a passer-by dialed 911 to report a man down near the rear of the 900 block of Murrieta Boulevard, said Officer Traci Rebiejo.
When police arrived, they found a man in the creek in the vicinity of Granada High School, Rebiejo said. The man was pronounced dead at the scene.
Police would not say how long the man had been dead when he was found or the state of his body when he was discovered.
The man's identity is being withheld pending his identification by the Alameda County Coroner's office, but Rebiejo confirmed he was a Livermore resident.
The man's cause of death remained under investigation on Monday morning.
Anyone with information about this case is asked to call police at 925-580-9665.
