OAKLAND -- A 52-year-old man fatally shot Oct. 10 outside his Sobrante Park district home in East Oakland was identified by police Tuesday as Trent S. Prater.
Prater was shot about 7:20 p.m. Oct. 10 in the 10600 block of Topanga Drive. He died at the scene.
Officer Phong Tran said Prater was outside his home when two men pulled up in a vehicle and began arguing with him before one of the men shot him. The men fled in the vehicle and have not been arrested. Police are not sure what the argument was about.
Prater was married, had two sons and worked as a truck driver, police were told.
Prater's death was the 75th homicide in Oakland in 2013.
