GILROY -- A woman killed Thursday when her car veered off Highway 101 and onto a frontage road has been identified as Sarah Ashleigh Coffman, 26, of Hollister.

Coffman was driving a Toyota Scion north on 101 when the car went out of control for unknown reasons and ended up crashing through fencing and onto Noname Uno Road near St. Louise Hospital just after 6:30 p.m., said California Highway Patrol officials.

She was pronounced dead at the scene, according to the Santa Clara County Medical Examiner-Coroner's Office, which identified Coffman on Friday.

No additional information about the crash was available Friday night.
