OAKLAND -- Five people were wounded in shootings that happened within four hours Sunday in different parts of Oakland, police said.

Some other people suffered minor injuries when they crashed their car in San Leandro after being shot at and chased in East Oakland, police said.

No names were released in any of the incidents.

Two 17-year-old boys were shot at 8:22 p.m. Sunday as they drove in a car in the 6800 block of Bancroft Avenue.

Both were taken by ambulance to a hospital, where one was in critical condition and the other in stable condition.

Police are trying to determine whether the youths were shot at from another car or from someone standing on the street. No motive has been released and no arrests made.

About 8 p.m., a woman was shot in the area of 28th and West streets in West Oakland. She was able to get her own transportation to a hospital, where she was in stable condition. No motive was released, and no arrests have been made in the shooting.

At 4:26 p.m. a 24-year-old woman and her 22-year-old boyfriend were shot as they drove in a car in the 7300 block of Weld Street in East Oakland, police said. Both were taken by ambulance to a hospital. Their conditions were not available.

Police said the couple was shot at by someone in another car. Police don't know the motive, and no arrests have been made.

Police don't believe the shootings are related.

At 7:20 p.m. a group of people who said they were shot at in East Oakland and chased by the gunman crashed their car into another vehicle in the parking lot of a credit union at Bancroft and Dutton avenues in San Leandro. They suffered minor injuries from the crash.

The driver and passengers told police someone shot at them on 88th Avenue in East Oakland about two miles away and chased them to San Leandro. Police were trying to determine a motive.
