WALNUT CREEK -- A construction crew working Monday morning on Lacassie Avenue caused a gas line break and police were asking people to avoid the area.
No injuries have been reported and so far no one has been evacuated.
A construction crew broke the pipe shortly before 9:09 a.m. while digging with a backhoe in the 1700 block of Lacassie Avenue, police said.
At the scene, Monday morning, gas was shooting about 15 feet into the air.
Walnut Creek police, fire and city crews are on scene as well as PG&E workers.
