OAKLAND -- A 19-year-old man shot while driving his car in East Oakland Saturday afternoon was hospitalized in critical condition on life support Monday, police said.
His name was not released. Police said he lives in Oakland.
The man was found unconscious with a bullet wound about 2:15 p.m. Saturday after his car crashed into a parked vehicle and overturned in the 8600 block of MacArthur Boulevard near Castlemont High School.
Investigators determined the shooting actually happened in the 8400 block of MacArthur and the man was able to drive to where he crashed, police said.
Police believe he was shot by someone outside the car. Police are not sure what the man was doing in the area where he was shot. No motive has been determined and no arrests have been made.
