EL SOBRANTE -- An El Sobrante man was arrested on suspicion of possession of stolen property in connection to a Nov. 10 theft at a Boys & Girls Club office, authorities said Friday.
On Thursday, detectives arrested 47-year-old Dino Patereau at his home on Appian Way after a search warrant was served at the home and stolen property was found inside, according to Contra Costa County Sheriff's spokesman Jimmy Lee.
Lee would not specify what exactly was found, adding only that unspecified "suspicious items" were also recovered.
Patereau was booked at the County Jail in Martinez but has since posted $20,000 bail, Lee added.
It is unclear just how Patereau is connected to the theft at the organization, which was reported the day after the club held a fundraiser. At the time, the organization told police they found a door to the organization's office open and a safe and the safe's contents missing.
"It is unbelievable that people would steal from this nonprofit organization who has dedicated over 60 years of service to our youth," the organization said in a press release.
