A resident suffered minor smoke inhalation in an apartment fire in Oakland on Monday evening, a fire battalion chief said.
The fire was reported on the second floor of an apartment building at 628 28th St. at about 7 p.m., Battalion Chief Jamie Bowron said.
Firefighters found a small room and contents fire and it was quickly put out. A resident of the apartment had suffered some minor smoke inhalation and was taken to a hospital to be checked out, Bowron said.
