Oakland police are now offering information in Spanish and Chinese about a temporary visa program for people who aid criminal investigations.

The U-Visa program, which started in 2007, allows victims of certain crimes to stay in the U.S. for up to four years if they provide information to investigating officers.

To help make information about the program available to all residents, Oakland police on Thursday unveiled translations on its U-Visa webpage: http://www2.oaklandnet.com/government/o/opd/s/UVisa/index.htm
