FREMONT -- A day after police posted video of a residential burglary in progress on YouTube and Facebook, police received tips that led them to arrest a 28-year-old Fremont man suspect, police said.

Fremont police spokeswoman Geneva Bosques said the video, captured from surveillance cameras in the home, got more than 2,000 hits on YouTube and reached 30,000 people on the Fremont Police Facebook page. Police posted the video twice on the Facebook page they monitor and the first time it "reached" 13,000 people and the second time it reached roughly 17,000 visitors, Bosques said.

The video was taken on Saturday when a home in the 4100 block of Eggers Drive was burglarized of high-end speakers, two cameras, men's clothing and an computer printer, items valued at $1900, police said.

On Wednesday afternoon, police released video in hopes that someone would recognize the suspect. By early Thursday, more than a dozen tips led police to Richard Andres Banuelos, 28, a Fremont transient who was staying at the Fremont Islander Motel. He was arrested and booked at the Fremont Jail for residential burglary.
