NEWARK -- Police are asking the public to help identify a woman who drained a man's bank account after he assisted her in cashing a check.

On Dec. 4, the unidentified woman approached a man in the Bank of America parking lot in Newark with another unidentified female. Both suspects asked the man to help cash a check at the bank.

The man agreed and went into the bank with one of the women who handed him a check made out to "cash."

The man used his personal checking account to cash the check and gave the money to the woman. However, a few days later, the man discovered his checking account had a negative balance. Bank representatives told him his banking information had been stolen.
