  • "iHeartradio Music Festival, Night 1" (8 p.m., The CW): Airing over two nights from Las Vegas, this concert features performances by Katy Perry, Elton John, Keith Urban, Queen with Adam Lambert, Muse, Tiesto, J Cole, Robin Thicke and Fun.

  • "Rudolph's Shiny New Year" (9 p.m., ABC): The red-nosed reindeer is sent on a mission to find Happy, the missing New Year baby. If Happy stays lost, it will be Dec. 31 forever.
