A man tossed his 4-year-old child from the 14th floor of a Manhattan apartment building, then jumped after him, according to the New York Post.

The toddler, who the Post reported was wearing Christmas-themed pajamas, was pronounced dead at a hospital. Authorities said the man was pronounced dead at the scene.

Authorities say they received an emergency call reporting two jumpers from the 52-floor building around noon Sunday.

Officers found a 35-year-old man and the 4-year-old child on the roof of a neighboring college when they arrived, the Post reported.

No identifications have been released.

The circumstances of the fall are unclear. Authorities are investigating.

The address is an Upper West Side rental building listed as South Park Tower. The building is a short distance away from Columbus Circle and Lincoln Center.
