CHARLOTTE, N.C. — After braving 5-degree weather with a minus-10 wind chill last weekend in Green Bay, the 49ers opted not to practice in the rain here Saturday in advance of their divisional playoff game Sunday against the Panthers.
Instead, the 49ers stayed inside their downtown hotel and held their light, walk-through practice in a ballroom.
Busses and a police escort were ready to whisk the 49ers off to an outdoor practice field until heavy rain arrived just before noon, with the temperature at 57 degrees.
Sunday's forecast calls for sunny skies and 56-degree temperature, according to the National Weather Service. Kickoff is at 10:05 a.m.sw
