OAKLAND -- A man was arrested after three people were stabbed Sunday night at an East Oakland home, police said.

A 43-year-old woman and two men, 33 and 35, were stabbed in different parts of their bodies. Two had to be hospitalized. All are expected to recover.

A 47-year-old man was arrested.

Police said some of the people involved are related, but exactly how was not immediately known.

Their names were not released, nor were their places of residence.

The stabbings happened about 9:20 p.m. Sunday at a home in the 1800 block of East 19th Street, where police said some kind of family gathering was taking place.

What motivated the violence was not released, or whether alcohol was involved. The victims were stabbed with some kind of knife, police said.

The suspect was arrested at the scene on suspicion of three counts of assault with a deadly weapon.
