SAN JOSE -- A woman was rushed to the hospital after being struck by Caltrain near the Tamien station Tuesday morning, the transit agency said.
The collision was reported around 10:10 a.m. near the station off West Alma Avenue. One person was aboard the train at the time. Further details about the circumstances and the woman's condition were not immediately available.
The agency said service disruptions were minimal, with a handful of southbound passengers waiting at Diridon station until the track was cleared at Tamien.
Police were briefly on scene. Caltrain has recorded four collisions involving pedestrians in 2014, two of which were fatal.
