SAN PABLO -- A man who was being robbed at gunpoint Wednesday told police he ran over one of the suspects with his car after he felt threatened.

Around 12:14 p.m., officers responded to the 2700 block of El Portal Drive for calls of a shooting. Police said a man on scene said as he was being robbed at gunpoint by two people and that he felt threatened, so he drove his car at the suspect.

Both men fired several shots at the victim, but he was uninjured. The man, who is not being identified, seriously injured one suspect, 19-year-old Daly City resident Daniel Galdamez.

Galdamez was arrested at the scene and then taken to a hospital, where he is recovering, police said.

The second armed suspect was seen by a witness getting into a red sedan driven by a third man. The witness gave police a plate number and investigators later arrested the driver, 19-year-old San Pablo resident Juan Cortez. The second robbery suspect remains at large.

Police did not specify what charges both men were being held on.
