The driver of the vehicle involved in the 3:35 a.m. wreck also was booked on suspicion of manslaughter after the crash on Branham Lane at Snell Avenue, according to San Jose police Sgt. Heather Randol. It was not immediately known what caused the crash or what kind of vehicle the person was driving.
A passenger in the car was taken by ambulance to a hospital and pronounced dead, Randol said. A second passenger also was hospitalized with injuries that were not specified. It was not known immediately whether those injuries were life-threatening.
Police did not release the identity, gender or age of the dead passenger or the driver.
Police are still investigating, and no other details were released.
