OAKLAND -- A chase of a stolen car by the California Highway Patrol ended in a crash late Friday night.

According to the CHP, officers identified a stolen car driving on 73rd Avenue around 9:32 p.m. When officers attempted to stop the vehicle, the driver took off.

The CHP chased the car to 98th Avenue and San Leandro Street, where the driver crashed and hit at least one other car.

One officer suffered minor cuts in the crash, but the CHP could not confirm if it was one of their own or an Oakland police officer, or whether the injured officer was in a vehicle or on foot.

KTVU reported that one person was killed in the crash, but the CHP could not confirm if anyone was seriously injured.
