BERKELEY -- UC Berkeley police are investigating a sexual assault that happened in one of the university's dorms over the weekend.
According to police, on Saturday around 12:15 p.m. UCPD officers received a report of a sexual assault that happened the previous night.
The female victim, a student, was at a fraternity party and was drinking alcohol late Friday night. When she realized she was intoxicated, police said she asked a male student acquaintance to walk her home.
The male student took the victim to her dorm room in Unit 1 and sometime between 10:30 p.m. on Friday and 2:30 a.m. on Saturday, he allegedly sexually assaulted her, police said.
Police said they had "identified" the suspect but did not release any information on whether he had been located or arrested. He was described as a south Asian male, roughly 5 feet 7 inches tall, and 140 pounds with a medium complexion, brown eyes and black short curly hair.
