A water main break has shut down San Miguel Road in Concord and it's expected to be shut down until the early morning hours, police said.
The rupture occurred earlier Monday afternoon near San Miguel and Tioga roads.
Contra Costa Water District spokeswoman Jennifer Allen said crews have shut off water from flowing through the pipe and were making repairs late Monday afternoon.
Allen said the main break is not affecting water service for any customers.
Police said shortly after 3 p.m. that the roadway could remain closed for 10 to 12 hours.
