There's still no trace of a 93-year-old San Rafael man who went missing last week after failing to return home from dining out, San Rafael police said Monday.
Robert Davis was last seen at 8 p.m. Wednesday driving away from Marin Joe's restaurant in Corte Madera, and heading toward the overpass leading to the Highway 101 northbound on-ramp. Witnesses do not know if he got on the freeway.
Davis is described as 5-foot-7-inches tall, 139 pounds, with gray hair and gray eyes. He was last seen wearing a beige jacket, a light yellow sweater, a white or light-colored shirt and beige slacks.
His vehicle is a gray 2001 Toyota Camry, with license plate 4SEY056.
Leslie Mathews, Davis' daughter, said her father has dined at Marin Joe's each week for 15 years and knows the way back to his home at the Villa Marin retirement community. She said her family and law enforcement officials have been searching for him since Thursday morning.
"When we found out he was missing, I called the hospitals, emergency rooms, CHP and the police. He wasn't showing up anywhere," Mathews said. "It's just like he disappeared."
Mathews said Davis has lived in the county for 70 years and knows the area very well. She said he takes medications for a couple of non-life-threatening health conditions, has 20/20 vision and a good memory.
She said family members have been doing all they can to locate him.
"I have two children who have driven probably more than 400 miles throughout the county looking for him," Mathews said. "I have access to his credit card account online and there hasn't been any activity."
San Rafael police spokeswoman Margo Rohrbacher said no one has reported seeing Davis or his vehicle. In addition to handing out fliers, police Sunday sent out eight police cars with two people to a car to drive the county in search of Davis.
She said other law enforcement agencies have been notified of the disappearance and have checked video feeds on local bridges to see if they could spot Davis' car, but they haven't had any luck. Mathews said the police also have used a helicopter and boat to search for Davis.
Anyone with information is asked to call the San Rafael Police Department at 485-3000.
