A Vallejo man was tased and arrested Wednesday after refusing to leave a Subway store after demanding a free sandwich, police said.
Thirty-one-year-old Daniel Saulsberry apparently got into an argument with an employee of the store in the 100 block of Lincoln Road East after claiming he wasn't satisfied with the first sandwich he ate, Lt. Kenny Park said.
When officers arrived around 1:50 p.m., Saulsberry allegedly became violent and officers deployed a Taser and baton strikes, which had no effect, Park said.
At one point, Saulsberry and one of officers fell to the ground and the officer hurt his arm. A citizen then helped the officers in handcuffing the suspect.
The injured officer was taken by ambulance to an area hospital where he was treated and released.
After receiving medical treatment, Saulsberry was booked for disturbing the peace, felony battery on a peace officer and using force or violence toward an officer.
