OAKLAND -- Police on Friday were asking for the public's help in identifying a suspect wanted in connection with a series of armed robberies at city business.

Investigators say the suspect participated in the heists with two other men who were in custody on Friday, said police spokeswoman Johnna Watson.

The names of the two arrested men were being withheld by police and will not be released until prosecutors review the case, Watson said.

The robberies, which began on Feb. 22, took place on or near major North Oakland thoroughfares including San Pablo Avenue, College Avenue and Telegraph Avenue at a variety of service oriented businesses, Watson said.
