SAN PABLO -- A man gunned down over the weekend during a double shooting has been identified by the Contra Costa County Coroner's Office as Homar Illan of Hercules.

Illan, 25, was found fatally shot about 11 p.m. on Saturday night along the 1800 block of Powell Street, near Market Avenue, said police Sgt. Bradley Lindbloom.

Emergency crews arrived just after 11 p.m. Saturday to find Illan and another man suffering from gunshot wounds. Illan was pronounced dead at the scene; the other unidentified man was transported to a hospital with non-life threatening wounds, he said.

No arrests have been made as of Monday afternoon, police said, and a motive was not immediately known.

Saturday's slaying was the third gun death this year in the city of about 30,000. There were no homicides last year.

Anyone with information about the shooting is asked to call police at 510-215-3150.
