PHOENIX — Tim Lincecum didn't need much time to get past a bruise suffered in his final spring start, but the right-hander still might not be able to take the ball Thursday night.

During an interview with KNBR on Wednesday morning, Giants pitching coach Dave Righetti said Lincecum might have food poisoning and was throwing up throughout Tuesday night's loss to the Arizona Diamondbacks.

"There's a chance we could move him," Righetti said. "He had a rough night."

Lincecum looked fine in the afternoon as he threw his first bullpen session since taking a line drive off the left knee last Friday. He insisted all week that he would make his season debut Thursday, as planned, but that was before he got sick.

If Lincecum can't start the series finale, Ryan Vogelsong could be bumped up a day. Vogelsong pitched in a minor league game here in Phoenix on Saturday and would be on his normal four days rest. The Giants also have two long relievers -- Yusmeiro Petit and David Huff -- in the bullpen, but that group could be too taxed after the first two games of the series. Madison Bumgarner and Matt Cain lasted a total of just nine innings in their season debuts.
