OAKLAND -- Crime victims and their families can learn more about their rights and how to access resources at drop-in events being held throughout Alameda County next week in recognition of National Crime Victims' Rights Week.

The events, hosted by the Alameda County District Attorney's Office, will have claim specialists, victim advocates, and representatives from the DA's office, family justice center and various community-based organizations on hand to provide information and answer questions. The events will be held from 2 to 5 p.m. in a different Alameda County city each day:

  • Monday, April 7 at the Albany Main Library, 1247 Marin Ave., in Albany.

  • Tuesday, April 8 at Kennedy Community Center, 1333 Decoto Road, in Union City.

  • Wednesday April 9 at Castro Valley Library, 3600 Northbridge Ave., in Castro Valley.

  • Thursday, April 10 at Fremont Family Resource Center, Pacific Room #H800, 39155 Liberty St., in Fremont.

  • Friday, April 11 at Alameda County Medical Center, Highland Hospital Care Pavilion-Conference Center B, 1411 E. 31st St., in Oakland.
