SAN PABLO -- Contra Costa College was briefly evacuated Thursday morning due to a gas leak.

The leak was reported at 10:20 a.m. near the campus library when construction crews working on a new campus center project hit a gas line, according to Lt. Jose Oliveira of the college district police.

All classes before 1 p.m. were canceled. By 12:15 p.m., the evacuation order was lifted, Oliveira said.

No injuries were reported. The college is part of the Contra Costa Community College District that includes Diablo Valley College in Pleasant Hill and Los Medanos College in Pittsburg.
