SAN JOSE -- Suicide was behind the death of a man who was found inside a burning recreational vehicle parked near an elementary school off Senter Road earlier this week, authorities said Friday.
The Santa Clara County Medical Examiner-Coroner's Office said that the 48-year-old San Jose man found Monday inside the vehicle on Wool Creek Drive -- near the Franklin-McKinley School District administration buildings and George Shirakawa Sr. Elementary School. -- died from burn injuries and smoke inhalation and that "evidence supports that it was a suicide."
This newspaper does not typically identify suicide victims with limited exceptions.
San Jose firefighters were called just after 10 a.m. to the burning vehicle parked a few blocks from the intersection of Senter and Tully roads. After they put out the fire, they found the man's body. No other injuries were reported.
