Billy Joel's daughter, Alexa Ray Joel, collapsed Saturday night while performing in New York City.

Joel, whose mother is Christie Brinkley, fainted in front of a sold-out audience at Cafe Carlyle, according to People.com.

The 28-year-old singer was reportedly rushed to New York Presbyterian Hospital.

"I wanted to thank everyone for coming out to support me," Joel said in a statement to People.

Doctors diagnosed her with vasovagal syncope, according to her rep. The website said there is no treatment required for the condition, which causes fainting because the flow of blood to the brain is blocked.

If I had vasovagal syncope and was fainting all over the place, I'd think a treatment was required.

Joel apparently wasn't feeling well prior to taking the stage Saturday night.
