SAN JOSE -- A 22-year-old San Jose man died in a single-vehicle rollover crash Tuesday morning on southbound Highway 101 near Tully Road, according to the California Highway Patrol.

Troy Donecho was driving a 2001 Mazda when he lost control at 5:35 a.m. and the car veered off the right shoulder, according to CHP Officer Chris Falkowski. The Mazda collided with a light pole and overturned numerous times before coming to a rest on its roof.

A 21-year-old male passenger suffered minor injuries in the crash. Donecho and the passenger were wearing seat belts, according to the CHP.

The cause of the crash is under investigation. The CHP does not know how fast the Mazda was traveling or if any other vehicles were involved in the crash.

The crash closed the two right lanes for about three hours. All lanes were reopened at 8:45 a.m.
