The pilot of a single-engine plane performed an emergency landing in a field near Livermore after the plane lost engine power this evening, a spokesman with the Federal Aviation Administration said.

The two-seater plane, a Cessna 152 with the tail number N66970, landed in a field about 5 miles east of Livermore Municipal Airport around 7 p.m., FAA spokesman Ian Gregor said.

Neither of the two people on board the plane were injured and no damage to the plane was reported, Gregor said.

The FAA is investigating the emergency landing.
