George Clooney recently stormed away from a fancy dinner with Steve Wynn after with Las Vegas bigwig called President Obama a word that rhymes with what you'd get if you crossed a bass with a mole.
TMZ reported that Wynn said Clooney got drunk on tequila shots and, when Wynn said something negative about the president, Clooney launched an F-bomb at Wynn and took off.
It's a good thing all Democrats don't walk away from meals when hearing someone call the President a name, or half the country would starve.
TMZ also reported that Clooney said Wynn was railing over the Affordable Care Act. Clooney reportedly said, "I said that the President was my longtime friend and then he said, 'Your friend is an (bass crossed with a mole).' At that point, I told Steve HE was a (bassmole) and that I wasn't going to sit at his table while he was being such a jackass."
Wynn reportedly told the Las Vegas Review-Journal, "When he's (Clooney) is drinking, he considers himself a close personal buddy of the President. Clooney's fun to be with when he's sober ... . If you have a chance to drink with him, you want to get there early, and don't stay late."
He's seemed fine the last couple times he and I met Brad for drinks.
Clooney reportedly said there were nine people at the dinner, which occurred two weeks ago at Botero restaurant at Wynn's Encore hotel. He said, "It had nothing to do with politics and everything to do with character."
According to TMZ, Wynn said, "Everybody who's in my business -- the casino business -- knows to take actors with a grain of salt."
That's right. Michael Corleone hardly ever took Johnny Fontane seriously.
