Naya Rivera's swan song on "Glee" might have come earlier than expected. The actress-singer reportedly has been booted off the popular Fox series.

The firing comes just a few days after reports surfaced of an on-set argument between Rivera and co-star Lea Michele. But a source with the show told the New York Daily News that Michele did not have a say in the dismissal.

"One co-star would not have any power in whether another returns to the show," the insider said. Instead, the "Glee" bosses apparently were fed up with the on-set tension.

Rumors of a rift between the actresses began to swirl earlier this month, with a "major altercation" coming to head on April 15, Us Weekly reported. It was reported that Rivera was "jealous" of the attention heaped upon her co-star.

It might have been a case of real life imitating art. Rivera's character, Santana Lopez, was constantly at odds with Michele's Rachel Berry. And perhaps Rivera grew to be as mouthy and belligerent as Santana.

Either way, producers apparently had enough and wrote Rivera out of the Season 5 finale.

Neither Fox nor Rivera have commented on the reports.
