Condoleezza Rice, former U.S. secretary of state and an accomplished pianist, will perform in a benefit concert Saturday in Palo Alto.
Rice, a public policy fellow at Hoover Institution and business professor at Stanford University, will perform in a concert featuring classical, jazz and gospel music to benefit the scholarship fund of the Bay Area Baptist District Association Scholarship Committee.
Rice previously has performed with cellist YoYo Ma for the Queen of England and with Aretha Franklin in a fundraiser with the Philadelphia Orchestra. On Saturday actor Obba Babatunde' will also perform.
Rice, who once aspired to be a concert pianist, performed at age 15 Mozart's Piano Concerto in D-Minor with the Denver Symphony Orchestra.
