FREMONT -- An overturned dump truck carrying dirt stalled traffic along Interstate 680 Thursday morning for several hours, according to the California Highway Patrol.

The solo-vehicle crash was reported at 9:15 a.m. and shut down three lanes of northbound I-680 near Auto Mall Parkway in Fremont.

The truck's driver suffered minor injuries in the crash, a CHP officer said. He was taken by ambulance to a San Jose hospital to be treated.

All lanes were reopened to traffic at about 1 p.m. The crash was caused by a blown out tire, according to the CHP. .
