Yosemite National Park's Tioga Road is scheduled to open at noon Friday, the earliest it has been cleared of snow in 26 years.
Tioga -- Highway 120 over Tioga Pass to the town of Lee Vining -- is the last Yosemite road to open this season. Glacier Point Road opened April 14, and the Mariposa Grove road never closed.
Tioga Road usually opens in late May. In 1988 it opened on April 29, and in 1987 on May 2. In 1998, an El Nino year, it didn't open until July.
Services will remain limited along the road for several weeks. Campgrounds on the route, including White Wolf and Tuolumne Meadows, are not expected to open until June at the earliest.
Yosemite snowpack as of April 1 was 33 percent of normal, the park said.
Highs Friday in Yosemite Valley are expected to reach the mid-80s, with overnight lows near 50.
